Lights for Love 2021 – Rochester
November 26 @ 5:25 pm - 6:30 pm
Every year, just before Christmas our Lights for Love Appeal provides a wonderful opportunity to come together and remember loved ones. It’s a chance to reflect and celebrate time spent together, leave a dedication to your loved one and make a donation to support the hospice. The events focus on remembrance, with readings, hymns, carols and refreshments afterwards.
Christmas trees will be illuminated by hundreds of tiny white lights at three separate venues. Each light will symbolise the love for someone special, and stars will be available that can be personalised and hung on the trees.
Many people come because they were supported by care from The Wisdom Hospice, but you don’t need to have any connection to the hospice to attend. Everyone, of any age, is welcome to join us.
Every dedication we receive will be included in our Book of Remembrance, which will be displayed at each service and also at the Hospice throughout the whole of December. A special card will be sent for you to keep.
Your donation will help us to continue to care for future patients and their families throughout the year, not just at Christmas.
Please note the deadline for dedications for our Book of Remembrance is Friday 19th November at 9am. After this, late entries will be inserted at the back of the book.
To dedicate a light(s) click on the Make a Dedication button or alternatively you can download the form.
"The moment the cathedral is just lit by candles and
the tree is magical. I always cry for a moment - but feel a sense of peace after."
"The Yearly Lights for Love, in Rochester Cathedral, has given me the opportunity to ensure my dad is remembered to this day and I can offer a helping hand, from a distance, with a donation to ensure the hospice is able to keep running."
