2020 has been a Year like No Other
Covid-19 has touched the lives of every one of us.
Even the lucky ones have had their lives turned upside down, struggling with job worries, lockdown, home working and homeschooling. For others, lockdown brought loneliness and fear. Many have lost loved ones in the worst possible circumstances - unable to be with them, to hold their hand and comfort them in their final days and hours.
Throughout, The Wisdom Hospice team has been there for our community, caring and comforting. Overleaf staff on the front line tell their stories. The pressures were great and there were many tears.
Coninuting our Comitment
Throughout, we at The Friends have been working flat out to try to raise the £2,500 a day we need to meet our commitment to support the hospice service.
Our income dried up almost completely when the country went into lockdown. Government restrictions forced us to cancel our main fundraising events. Our three charity shops were closed for weeks.
We know you may be struggling financially and may face an uncertain future in a worsening jobs market. We understand if you feel you can’t donate at this time.
But if you can, even just a little, it would mean a lot to us to know you are there for us - and the magnificent team we are determined to continue to support at the Wisdom Hospice.
Please do take the time to read the inside story of Wisdom Hospice during the pandemic.
We are so grateful for your continued and greatly valued support. It is thanks to you and our community that the Wisdom Hospice has been able to maintain its much-needed care for patients and their families, nursing them through such difficult times.
We wish you and your families well in the hope that you stay safe and keep healthy over the coming weeks and months.
